Ugly Betty - September 27, 2007 - How Betty Got Her Grieve Back

OhMyGod! (That's me channeling Justin.) How sad were the Santos/Hilda scenes? And by sad I mean emotionally wrenching. Those series of scenes in Hilda's room are probably my favorites in the whole cannon of Ugly Betty. Emmy nod to Ana Ortiz next year?

There was a lot going on this episode. I'm glad Justin (Mark Indelicato) will be getting more screen time as he interns at Mode. Can't wait to see how Mark (Michael Urie) handles having a little version of himself working with Wilhemina (Vanessa Williams).

Ugly Betty - May 17 - East Side Story

For a comedy, the season one finale for Ugly Betty was really depressing.

Since there was a lot going on, I'll pull apart the storylines and talk about each separately.

First, the Claire Meade story: I didn't like it. Breaking out of the prison van. I actually tuned out during the Claire parts. Running from the law... wasn't that done in Prison Break?

That Ugly Betty Shocker

As far as shocking endings go, Ugly Betty's January 18th ending was near the top of the list.

In fact, with the ending of 24 (Curtis and the Nuke), this is quite the week for the minutes before the closing credits.

I wasn't a big Ugly Betty fan when it started this past fall. I'm not even sure I've seen all the episodes. But after hearing the buzz about how good a show it was, I decided to give it a try. It's a cute show, and like the Betty character, has a lot of heart.
