It seems I'm really good at picking the runner-up on So You Think You Can Dance! Russell won this season's competition, and I guess I can't really complain.
Overall, this was a great season, and I can't wait to see what season 7 will bring.
The season 6 finale of So You Think You Can Dance is almost here (and this show is my favorite reality show) and four hours before I see the results (though they'll be available online before the show airs on the West Coast) I hereby predict that Jakob Karr will win.
Of course, I predicted Travis Wall would win a few seasons ago....

In the reality show irony department, we have the season premier of Biggest Loser, where people strive to lose weight and live better, and the season fine of More to Love, which I've never seen but seems to say being fat and waiting to die of congestive heart failure is perfectly fine.
So Monday's The Jay Leno Show had the idiot Kanye West. Tonight's show (no pun intended) has the idiot Tom Cruise. Yeah, Jay's show is off to a great start. (And I like Jay!)
Does anyone really watch ABC's summer reality shows? And will admit it?
NCIS has last season's finale - where Ziva is asked to leave NCIS and is later tortured. Good times.

Over the last couple years I've posted about how Dancing With The Stars lack a certain element - namely, stars. This year, I won't be saying that. Looking over the list, most of the 13 contestants do have star-quality in their field. The only real exception is Kim Kardashian. I have no idea why she would be considered a 'star' and be on the show. (I do have a problem with many of the self-made reality 'stars.')
So, the stars...

I could have done without the Jonas Brothers (and this was the first time I've actually heard them perform/sing - and I wasn't impressed) and it would have been fun to see some of the past years routine instead of that montage. But overall, a really good show that actually kept me interested! /UPDATE
I haven't written anything about this years So You Think You Can Dance for one simple reason - I didn't connect with any of the dancers. There really wasn't anything about any of the top 20 that made me go "wow. that was amazing!" There were a lot of Wow moments, and, really, most of the top ten were really, really good. But I didn't connect with any of them the way I connected with others in the past couple of years.
Yet it was probably the best group they've had... 'technically.'
So as for who will win this year, I can say I have no idea. I'll be routing for either Katie or Joshua. Those two had great chemistry. Twitch was good, too. The other girl (Courtney, I think) was fine. But I never considered her top 4.
Sad, really, when the whole competition for me is boiled down to a few paragraphs.
Seriously, how long is the audition/callback process? It's been months now since the show started, right? And they just finished the callbacks?
I lost interest a long time ago. (The stupid audience screaming didn't help much.) And my lose of interest has nothing to do with the talent. From what I've seen, there are a lot of people who are amazing at what they do. (Those young kids, while heartwarming enough, don't do anything for me - I really hope they're gone soon. Harsh, probably.)
So does NBC just have nothing else to put on the air that they have to elongate the process? And now we have a couple weeks of the Olympics... Will AGT ever finish up?
Is it true? American Idol hasn't aired on the West Coast yet - it just finished its East Coast live broadcast - and technorati has posts regarding the winner...
David Cook? Seriously? My mother, who for the past few days has been saying that the other David, Archuleta, was going to win. And as far as I knew, he was the one to beat. (And beat Cook apparently did.)
(And I should point out that I barely saw any of this years shows - bits and pieces only - and I really didn't care who won. And you don't have to win AI to get a record deal - second place isn't that bad.)

Marissa.
No surprise there (I called that last week.)
As for my prediction for next weeks winner of that lame-ass globe thingy, it will be between Jason and Kristi. Cristian, although coming father than I (and I bet everyone in America) thought he would, doesn't stand a chance.
So it's between the professional dancer Kristi and the football player Jason.
That's right, Kristi's a professional dancer. Sure, she had skates on and performed on ice, but if you define 'dance' as movement to music, then, yes, she's a professional dancer.
