fuzzylime cms and forum

fuzzylime logoJust discovered fuzzylime CMS, formerly called PHP-Update. It's designed as a full featured Content Management System, with blogs and image galleries and polls and mailing lists. Unfortunately, they don't have a features page that lists what it can do.

The forum, however, is a separate system from the portal. You can find out more about the fuzzylime forum here

Safari does Windows

The first thing I thought of when I heard that Apple released their Safari web browser for Windows was, "Crap."

The last thing I want right now is another browser that I have to design around. I'm building my new theme, and I already hate Internet Explorer, and I really don't want to troubleshoot another browser.

Hopefully I wont have to. Apple says it's standards-based. Hope so.

RadiantBoard - Not Revolutionary

I feel so deceived. Dirty deceived, even.

I few weeks ago I heard about a new forum system called RadiantBoard. It was promised to be 'revolutionary' which to me means setting a new standard.

So after some waiting, RadiantBoard went live.

And it was a huge disappointment.

phpbb's WP-United

Just discovered WP-United, a mod for the phpbb forum software that integrates the users of WordPress with phpbb.

It actually seems to be very advanced. I wonder if this will be the standard other forums use for integration.

Check out their Features page to see the details.

The 2007 PortAll Update

(PortAll is one of my dead horses that I'm continuing to beat.)

The Timeline:

April 2005 I learned of a new Content Management System called PortAll. It looked interesting.

January 10, 2006, I wrote my post Is PortAll Sunk? nine months after I heard about the project.

March/April 2006 I get comments saying that the project was still on, so...

show hidden files in OS X

This post is mostly for me to remember where I can find that article on showing hidden files in OS X, since it's a pain in the ass to do.

Apple's Leopard Delayed

Apple's release date for Leopard was (quietly?) changed to October 2007 instead of Spring 2007.

Guess they're going for quality. Imagine a company not wanting to release a operating system before its time...

Link. Date change at the bottom of the text.

BlackDonnellysForum.com

A forum discussing the new NBC show The Black Donnellys. (I'm registered there as silverwing.)

Couchville - another tvguide

Couchville Guide link.

Way back when I used tv.yahoo.com to get information about tv shows listings. It worked really well. Then the geniuses at Yahoo! changed the look of their site and made tv.yahoo.com completely unusable. (I wrote about this last November and gave the site the middle finger.)

my new favorite plugin - Related Posts in Feeds

Related Posts to Your Feeds is my new favorite plugin for WordPress.

It uses Ultimate Tag Warrior's tagging mechanism to get the related posts then appends them to the feed so when someone views a feed with a feedreader (I just checked it with Netvibes it lists six other posts that are (potentially) related.)

Seriously cool.
