tvTonight - Tuesday September 2, 2008

The CW brings back Beverly Hills 90210, now simply 90210. I never watched the original, and I can't think of any reason I'll be watching this show. (CW, 8pm, two hour special.)

On NBC, another ten acts perform for America on America's Got Talent. (8pm or 9pm depending on your areas coverage of the Republican National Convention, NBC, two hours.) It's followed by a Dateline NBC.

ABC has Wipeout and the what-the-hell-were-they-thinking Wanna Bet.

Fox repeats House tonight -House's Head and Wilson's Heart - which were two of the best episodes of the series. And of most television after the strike.

CBS has an NCIS repeat - part one of the season finale. That's followed by Big Brother (which I don't really follow - Dan should get ousted soon, if you ask me.) - Hey, I said I don't 'really' follow. Smiling

House Season 4 DVD

house season 4The season that started with House hosting his own version of Survivor ended with two of the best episodes of the series (or best episodes of most of tv in the 2007-2008 season) ever.

House Season 4 "House's Head" and "Wilson's Heart"

house's amberAs bad as the Bones season finale was, the House season finale was 100 times better. The reason: House gave us character moments that were real.

I haven't been a huge fan of House this season. I enjoyed the beginning when House went through his Survivor phase to get his new team together. But once everyone was assembled, I really could care less about them. Thirteen (Olivia Wilde) is fine. The one guy, Harold or Kumar, I don't know which, I didn't like. (I don't even know the character's name.) Taub just doesn't feel right. And with Cameron and Chase barely getting any screen time, it's just not the same. (And notice they didn't even change the opening credits this season?) If they just got rid of Chase and Cameron, I would have preferred that; the expectation of them actually doing something would be gone and I could just focus on the new team. Alas, not.

House - September 25, 2007 - Alone

The fourth season premier of House. And he's alone. (Thus the episode title.)

I for one am glad they switched things up a bit this year. Although I liked the relationships House had with Chase, Foreman and Cameron, new blood was needed to keep things interesting. (As long as the show doesn't turn into House Anatomy, that is.)

But... the patient was saved by the same method that's been used since the begging of the series. After a number of failed attempts, House gets his inspiration for a cure from some third party or something he read. It's almost always the same.

House Anatomy?

Rumor is that four new characters will be added to the cast of Fox's House M.D. next season. The four will be working with House.

But we'll also be seeing his former cast members. Chase, Cameron, and Foreman will be back, too.

So there'll be House and the new four, plus Chase, Cameron, and Foreman, plus Cuddy and Wilson. Nine principle actors on the show.

My biggest fear now is that the show will turn into Grey's Anatomy. Like, seriously.

House Season Three Finale - Human Error

For a while now I've thought that House was too predictable. He'd get a patient that they couldn't diagnose, but would eventually solve the case after something a clinic patient said or something he said to a patient. It was very formulaic.

But tonights episode didn't follow the formula.

Instead, we had a patient that died on House, only to come back again.

And in the process, he lost his staff.

Chase was fired and Cameron resigned after the whole ordeal (which I found surprising.) Foreman's notice was up and he packed up and left.

House May 1 - Family

Will Dr. Foreman really leave the Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital?

I doubt it.

Next weeks episode preview showed some neurological problems with the patient, which is Foreman's specialty, and House will probably get him to stay.

And probably because House doesn't want to make another "affirmative action hire."

Now the other two, Chase and Cameron, should probably go. Their relationship is annoying.

I predict that Foreman's newfound guilt will be over soon.

(But if he does leave, it's a big secret that no one is talking about.)

What's House's Big Secret?

Tomorrow (March 6) Fox will air a brand new episode of House and the ads promise two things:

1. House and Cameron kiss. And not just a smack on the cheek, either.
2. House has a Big Secret.

As for the kiss, is Cameron turning into out little nymphomaniac? When we last saw her, she was leaving with Chase to presumably have sex. Now she's kissing House. Will she be doing Wilson next?

And does Foreman feel left out?

30 Pieces of Silver, Please

I found this disturbing.

A week or so ago I visited the House MD page at fox.com and saw the poll asking if people understood what Wilson said at the end of a recent episode. The scene had Wilson going up to the cop that's investigating House on drug/narcotic charges and pretty much turning his best friend over the cops.

As Wilson walks in he says (to the effect of) "Do I get 30 pieces of silver."

And half of the people who responded to the poll didn't know what that meant.
