Putting Faith into FedEx

After my last problem with FedEx, it seems I'm putting my faith in them once again. But it seems that they may actually come through this time.

I ordered more memory for my Mac Mini on Friday, and the company is shipping it from Boise to Burlington, WA. It shipped out last Friday afternoon and it's currently sitting in Seattle and scheduled for delivery tomorrow afternoon.

Hopefully they can manage to get it the 60 miles up Interstate 5 without any problems.

A Truth about Federal Express (FedEx)

If FedEx makes a mistake (like sending a ground package across the country when it only has to go a couple states away) they will not do anything to get the package to you faster.

Usually if a company makes a mistake, they will try to fix it to make the customer happy.

Not with FedEx.

So they have no problem if a package takes two weeks to go 800 miles.

They will not take a package that they misdirected and ship it by air, since apparently FedEx Ground and FedEx Air are two separate entities that can't talk to each other.

FedEx doesn't care about you.

FedEx hates me

At 3:40 this afternoon FedEx attempted to deliver my Mac Mini.

At 3:40 this afternoon I was at home.

Not only was I at home, but I had the Signed Release Form outside my door saying it was okay to leave the package if I wasn't there.

But I was there.

In fact, about that time, I was outside. In plain site of the driveway.

No FedEx truck drove up.

Or by.

I'm seriously starting to have doubts about that company.

Somebody Please Get FedEX an Atlas

last week I ordered a new mac mini and a modem* from Apple. Apple, of course, sent each out separately. The modem the day before the computer.

I checked the FedEx tracking website tonight to see where the modem currently was. And I was shocked at the answer.

Now, the modem was shipped from Sacramento, California and was heading to Burlington, Washington. Straight up Interstate 5. I've driven that route many, many times. It's pretty straight forward.

Apparently my modem is in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania.

That's nowhere near Interstate 5.
