Do Not Disturb canceled

Tagged as:

"Do Not Disturb," the new Fox sitcom starring Jerry O'Connell has been canceled.

- Insert Rejoicing -

And it seems it's the first show this season to fail. (And, really, did anyone really think it would last?) Although Hole in the Wall, also from Fox, is being replaced this tonight with a second episode of Kitchen Nightmares.

And, really, Fox, you dumped Back to You for Do Not Disturb? At least Back to You was watchable.

Journeyman's End

It appears that Journeyman will not be renewed.

Which is a shame. I feel that the show was just beginning to find its place, its pace, and its direction. Yes, it took a long time to get there, but the ride was just beginning and now I feel a bit let down that the show, which I honestly didn't think would make it, wont be back next year.

Maybe some explanations about what was happening should have been explored earlier in the series.

Thoughts on Journeyman

Tagged as:

Journeyman was a show that I thought would have been canceled early in its life. In fact, I believe that it would have been if there wasn't any threat of a writers strike. It's a confusing time-travel story starring Kevin McKidd as reporter/unsuspecting time-traveler Dan Vassar. The first few episodes (what I caught of them) were a confused mess. As with any intricately plotted story, few answers were given. But I've been watching this show more an more over the last few weeks and I have to say I'm enjoying it more and more.

Nashville Canceled

Tagged as:

It's off the schedule this Friday, so I think it's safe to assume that Fox has canceled Nashville. And this has the distinction of being the first show to fail in the 2007 TV season.

I originally wrote that the five minutes of the show that I saw made me want to start drinking. Guess that'll have to wait for Viva Laughlin, CBS's show loosely based on a British show (Blackwater? something like that.) I give Viva three weeks on the air.

So Friday at 9pm K-Ville will repeat in place of Nashville.

Studio 60 is back?

Looks like NBC is bringing back Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.

It's on the schedule for Thursday May 24 at 10pm (the ER timeslot.)

Thursdays seems like a better day for the show, anyway.

Don't get your hopes up, though. It wont be back next year.

TV Networks: How not to Cancel Shows

Of the top of my head, here's a list of TV shows that have been canceled mid-season this year:

Runaways, Studio 60, Black Donnellys, Six Degrees, DayBreak, Justice, Vanished, Kidnapped, Andy Barker PI, The Wedding Belles, Standoff.

That's quite a few shows, and that's not even all the shows that were canceled. Just the ones I remember the names of.

I guess Drive is Canceled

Tagged as:

Drive, the Fox tv show about the cross-country car race (a la Cannonball Run) is off the schedule. Tonight, in its place, is a rerun of House.

Fox may air the remaining episodes over the summer.

Personally, I'm not surprised. Nothing about the show made me want to watch it. The only thing I really knew about it was it was a race with a multi-million dollar purse at the end and that it starred the captain from Firefly.

TV shows must really be hard (read: expensive) to make these days. Just look at the number of canceled shows.
