UPDATE #2: Rumor is that 24 may not be on at all in 2008 in the Writer's Strike continues. Reason being they want to keep with the spirit of 24 and have 24 episodes instead off 8 or 12.

UPDATE: I have no idea when the 2008 season of 24 will begin. I don't even think Fox knows when it will air. I wouldn't be surprised if they waited until summer to start it. (But here's Fox's 24 page for those interested.)

Let me start with the obvious about the 2007 season premier of 24:

Oh my god.

I've never been a fan of 24. In fact, I didn't see any of the episodes for seasons 1 through 4 at all. Not one. Last year when season 5 started, I thought I'd give the show a try. Jack, who was thought dead by most everyone, had to come out of hiding to deal with terrorists at the airport. I caught a few episodes of it, but grew bored of it. It's not that I didn't think the show was good; I just didn't get into it.

So these past few weeks I've seen the ads about the new season and thought I'd give it a shot.

And I'm glad I did.

The first three hours of the new season were good. Jack coming back from a Chinese prison camp and terrorists attacks in the US. Intense (real-world?) stuff. Then the fourth hour.
