Craig Ferguson on Password

Wasn't Craig Ferguson absolutely fabulous on Password? I mean, who could imagine a Scotsman being that brilliant while sober? Smiling (I would make an "assuming he was sober" comment, but wont.)

If Betty White is the Queen of Password, Craig is its King. Nothing against Barney Neil Patrick Harris, but Craig rules. (I guess Neil and Craig could fight over Password Court Jester.)

And I think I figured out why Craig and Betty stand out - their comedians. Comedians, especially stand-up comedians, have to think of their feet when their on stage, so having to come up with clues on the show is second nature to them. (So if your on Password, make sure your celebrity is a stand-up comedian.)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Betty White isn't a standup comedian. Nor any kind of comedian, actually. She's a comedic actress, which means she relies on the words of professional writers. She's good at Password because her late husband was the original host and she was one of the first panelists years and years ago so she's got lots of experience.

I agree Craig was terrific - fun and funny and sexy and a really great team mate to each of his Password Partners.

He's much more than a standup comedian though - he's an accomplished screenwriter and novelist. And, despite leaving school before graduation, he is self-educated in such a huge variety of topics I imagine his IQ must be well within the genius range (however, he's not a snob about how bright he is...). Given all that, it's no surprise his vocabulary is extensive, and his wit lightening quick!

Cheers, from another fan of the Cheekiest Monkey of All

I'll give you Betty White as the non-stand-up comedian, but I'll tell ya I'd rather spend an hour listening to her than just about any so-called comedian today. (And yesteryear... Seinfeld, anyone? I know, ewwww.)
