Mary McDonnell arrives at Seattle Grace!!!! Finally a reason to get excited about this show! Not that Kevin McKidd wasn't a reason to get excited about. But Mary McDonnell!

On CBS at the same time, CSI deals with a death in Koreatown. The promos CBS is airing makes it look sooooo good. Good enough to miss Mary McDonnell? Probably not.

Over on NBC, Dr. Greene shows up in flashbacks. You remember Mark Greene? Back when ER was really, really good and not just a caricature of itself that it is now? (And wasn't Greene the first doctor we saw in the pilot - getting woken up from the on-call room?) Worth seeing.

Over on the CW, Smallville is really good this season, even without Lex and (especially) Lana. And I've finally seen an episode of Supernatural which I also thought was really good.

Fox, however, has Kitchen Nightmares.

My picks are marked with a Smiling .

ABC
Ugly Betty (8pm, NEW) - PR nightmare at Mode. We knew this was coming.
Grey's Anatomy (9pm, NEW, Smiling :) ) - Mary McDonnell and Melissa George arrive; Dr. Hahn is out.
Life on Mars (10:01, NEW) - hostage crisis at a hospital

CBS
Survivor (8pm, NEW)
CSI (9pm, NEW, Smiling ) - boy shot in Chinatown
Eleventh Hour (10:01, NEW) - frozen body at a hot beach. What SPF did she use?

CW
Smallville (8pm, NEW, Smiling ) - Brainiac returns.
Supernatural (9pm, NEW) - conversation between angels.

FOX
Kitchen Nightmares (8pm, 9pm) - one old, one new?

NBC
My Name is Earl (8pm, NEW) - Earl's cousin (Jason Priestley?)
Kath & Kim (8:30, NEW)
The Office (9pm, NEW) Michael in Canada. Eh?
30 Rock (9:31, NEW)
ER (10pm, NEW, Smiling ) - Flashback with Dr. Greene.

Here's a great clip from the Grey's Anatomy Episode that you might enjoy. The final scene in which Mary McDonnell's character Dr. Virginia Dixon explains the limits of her Asperger's to Chandra Wilson's Dr. Bailey. Awesome, hilarious dig at the end.
