emmy2008 - Drama Actors (Lead, Guest, Supporting)
Is Spader going to win again? While the answer is "probably" I hope that a certain doctor beats the soap-box-toting lawyer.
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series
- James Spader (Alan Shore, Boston Legal)
- Bryan Cranston (Walt White, Breaking Bad)
- Michael C. Hall (Dexter Morgan, Dexter)
- Hugh Laurie (Dr. Gregory House, House)

- Gabriel Byrne (Paul, In Treatment)
- Jon Hamm (Don Draper, Mad Men)
Although part of me feels that James Spader will (undeservedly) win this... again, my pick is Hugh Laurie for House. Isn't it about time? The only other show I'm familiar with is Dexter, and I do think that Michael C Hall does an excellent job there. (I haven't seen Breaking Bad, but it sounds pretty good - something suited for Bryan Cranston.)
Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series
- William Shatner (Denny Crane, Boston Legal)
- Ted Danson (Arthur Frobisher, Damages)
- Zeljko Ivanek (Ray Fiske, Damages)
- Michael Emerson (Ben, Lost)

- John Slattery (Roger Sterling, Mad Men)
Michael Emerson for me, hands down. The more we see his character, Ben, the creepier he gets, which usually isn't the case.
Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series
- Stanley Tucci (Dr. Kevin Moretti, ER)

- Glynn Turman (Alex Sr.,In Treatment)
- Robin Williams (Merritt Rook, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit)
- Robert Morse (Bertram Cooper, Mad Men)
- Oliver Platt (Freddie Prune, Nip/Tuck)
- Charles Durning (John Gavin, Sr., Rescue Me)
I enjoyed Tucci's appearances on ER much more than any of the regular cast. He portrayed a compelling, yet flawed, doctor who on the surface had it pretty much together. Wish he was on more. And I didn't think the Robin Williams episode of SVU was all that great.
