UPDATE: Eric Millegan has an interview on tvguide.com including this:

TVGuide.com: Was this all written for you because you wanted to leave the show, or are you simply following the fate of your character?
Millegan: Oh, I'm following the fate of my character. It wasn't my choice — it was a creative decision to shake things up and make a good season finale.

Unfortunately, it wasn't a good season finale.

/UPDATE

Zack Addy was one of those fun characters on tv. He was so serious that you just had to laugh at him. He was also smart and socially inept.

But a killer? I don't think so.

There's no way I'd believe that Zack would kill someone. No matter the logic. Or lack of logic. It just doesn't track.

So what was a usually good television show has lost me. I don't think I can continue watching after they pull crap like this.

Zach Addy deserved better.

I was shocked at the start of the finale. I was like "wtf, you killed booth". Really glad they didn't kill him off.

I agree 100% about your comments on Zach =/

I truly disliked the season finale. It really doesn't make sense that a hyperlogical creature like Zack could find it reasonable to hook up with a cannibalistic serial killer. If he were that susceptible to dominance mind games, he would have been spinning like a weather vane among the strong personalities that surrounded him, fixating in turn on Brennan, Booth, Hodgins, etc. The final episode was unfaithful to the character originally created by the writers, who found it acceptable to destroy him for some cheap thrills and a melodramatic conclusion.

Yeah, I've got to add my comments to this lineup of posts. I really hated what they did to Zach, and have noticed that a lot of viewers did not feel that it didn't make any sense. I don't even understand why Eric Milligan is leaving the show, and why it had to have such as dramatic and completely out of character ending. It just didn't hold together for me and spoiled my evening. Bones has never spoiled my evening before, and I DO hope that this will be the last time it happens on this show. There are some shows I won't watch, but actually I thought the whole Gormogon storyline was very weak. Surely, they could do better.

Not at all happy
