Lost February 21 - "Marked" and Jack's Tattoos

Tagged as:

I don't know if the episode was actually titled "Marked" but that's what came to mind as I started writing this.

(And I started writing this last Thursday. Almost a week has passed, and I'm just getting to it. Tonight's episode recap should be done in a more timely fashion... and being a Hurley episode, it should be good.)

As the Feb 21st episode started, Juliet and Jack were changing cells and they passed in the hall. As they passed they took a quick look at each other. That's the point where I thought there would be a love interest between the two of them. It could work (Ben probably isn't going to let her go home, anyway.) And the best part of a love connection between Jack and Julliet?

The Julliet/Kate catfight over Jack. That would be a great scene. (Everyone remembers the Hurley/Sawyer fight.)

Anyway, we were promised the answers to three questions about Lost. I'm not exactly sure what the three questions were, actually.

1. What happened to the kidnapped people from the plane?
You know, the good people? They're fine. Brainwashed, apparently, but fine. Even the kids.

2. What's the deal with Jack's tattoos?
He got them from a Thai hooker, a woman/tattoo artitst who has the ability to sense who a person really is, while he was running away from his life. Probably after his divorce and his betrayal of his father.

The tattoo (according to the 'Sheriff' Isabel, a new Other) means "He walks amongst us but is not one of us."

I have to wonder if there's a literary or mythological connection here. (Cain, maybe?)

I'm not quite sure what the third question was. It could be:
3. Who's Kate hot for?
Jack, of course. She slept with Sawyer out of pity. Pity sex. Yeah.

So tonight Kate and Sawyer head for home and plan a rescue. (Well, Kate does. Sawyer is probably happy without Jack.) But unbeknownst to Kate but beknownst to us, Jack and the Others have moved off their Alcatraz and are headed back to the main island (?).

And Charlie isn't dead yet.

In Thailand, tattoos were believed to give people special powers, such as protection from weapons like knives and sticks.
