Celebrity Duets 9/14

Wow.

That was actually fun to watch.

Caught Celebrity Duets for the first time tonight. When I first heard about it, I didn't give it much thought. Celebrities from outside the music world singing duets with music stars. "Eh," I said. Why watch that when I could catch repeats of Grey's Anatomy?

But tonight I turned to Fox and caught Lucy Lawless singing. She was good. I thought that Jai Rodriguez did great, too, as well as Hal Sparks. Actually, Hal was probably the best of the bunch. Carly Peterson (who?) and Cheech Martin were the low points of the show.

Gawd, I may have to watch this show again.

I saw a blog post that called these celebrities "washed up." That's wrong. This show isn't like the others you'd find on VH-1. These celebrities are still in the prime of their careers. (Except Cheech.) Jai is still on Queer Eye (he is, right?), Lucy Lawless did a stint on Battlestar Galactica, Hal is... doing something, I'm sure. Alfonso is counting his money from Fresh Prince of Belle Aire. You get the idea. Most of them are still working.

Oh, and about the guest singer: Taylor Dayne (sp?) is white? I never knew that. I always assumed she was black.
