Sara Evans Rocks!

Tagged as:

I love Sara Evan's music. Have since I first heard her on the radio before her first album was released. So yes, I've been a fan since almost the beginning of her career.

I actually remember the first time I heard her. She was on a morning radio show (I think it was on the Oklahoma City radio station calling itself the 'Twister') one winter morning. Her interview came on as I was driving onto campus. And when I parked, she sang an accustic version of "Three Chords and the Truth." I sat in my car mesmorized. Talk about a great voice! I mean, this was country. And I was late for class.

So I've been a fan ever since. I even went to see her in a Wal-Mart parking lot show. Wal-Mart that spring (97) was touring country music up-and-coming singers. And Sara and someone else came to Oklahoma City. I may have skipped work to see her. If I didn't skip work, I would have.

And in honor of Sara winning the Top Female Vocalist on the May 23rd ACM awards, here are my 13 favorite Sara Evans songs:

  1. Three Chords and the Truth, from Three Chords and the Truth
  2. Suds in the Bucket, from Restless
  3. The Great Unknown, from No Place That Far
  4. Born to Fly, from Born to Fly
  5. A Real Fine Place to Start, from Real Fine Place
  6. I Keep Looking, Born to Fly
  7. Even Now, Three Chords
  8. Walk out Backwards, Three Chords
  9. True Lies, Thee Chords
  10. Crying Game, No Place
  11. Cheatin', Real Fine Place
  12. Let's Dance, Born to Fly
  13. Saints and Angels, Born to Fly

Suds in the Bucket is my favorite! Reminds me how fast my kids grow up, In a blink of an eye, and then they're gone! Great list. I love Sara Evans, I'll have to listen to the rest of these songs! Happy Thursday!

There's just no comparison to Sara Evans. She's got the voice, the looks, charisma, wit, and even some dancing moves, as everyone will soon see when she appears on Dancing with the Stars. To find out more about Sara, visit www.sara-online.net
