Sarah Connor Chronicles - January 21 - The Turk

"Don't drive yourself crazy chasing the future."

It's been a few days since "The Turk" aired and I have to say the episode left me a little confused. (I did take some notes - yes, I can be that anal - but most of the hour is a foggy memory.) The episode wasn't action packed, but I'm sure its purpose was to set the stage for things to come.

I'm pretty sure I saw the entire episode, but what was the deal with the "eyes" being removed from the body? Was the victim someone important? Who was the victim? And that whole "teen suicide" subplot? I know it was to show that John really shouldn't interfere and get noticed, but the first painting of the door was too obscure to make any impact, which led me to assume that the second painting wasn't that important either.

Cameron, the good Terminator, is devolving. She was way more 'human' in the pilot at school, and now she's just, dare I say it, robotic.

Sarah goes on a date with a man who builds automatons in his basement. Which may be a progenitor to the Terminators. The thing that bothered me about that was Andy, Sarah's date, took her to his house for a first date. You don't bring people to your home for a first date. And you don't go to a strangers house on a first date. (I know they had to move the plot along, but still.)

Since Andy may have been building what would be a prototype of the Terminator, Sarah would have killed him. Instead, and showing some growth here, she burns his house down. Which makes me think that he'll now go to work for someone and build the Terminators there.

The Terminator from the pilot starts growing his human skin with the help of a scientist. (Of course, technically his head shouldn't have come through the time-globe-thingy, but I guess I can overlook that huge plot hole.)

I did like the opening dream sequence with Sarah battling the atom bomb creators/Terminators. Sarah is still fighting the past while trying to save the future. (And, really, would a psychiatric hospital have all that many books on nuclear physics? I didn't think so.

And we've still got to figure out the girl that's in John's science class. Is she part of the Skynet Hunting Party? (Freedom Fighter from the Future? That would seem highly coincidental.)

Overall, a borderline episode that seemed more like filler. Once the FBI agent tracks down Sarah and John, the show will probably speed up. I just hope it's soon.
