Jesus Had Herpes and Other House Stories

The problem when trying to write about House is that a lot of episodes deal primarily with medical issues, and lately too little about the interactions between the characters.

And me discussing the medical side of House is like an ant discussing the Grand Canyon. It’s just too big a topic and my knowledge of it is way too limited. (Even if you read the episode summaries on the Fox House homepage, you may find yourself in need of a good medical reference.)

Pando

Found this and thought it was interesting.

Pando
From the site:
"Introducing a little app with a lot of muscle.

Pando lets you send your home videos, giant presentations and entire folders of original quality photos to anyone with an email address."

I haven't used this (it says it requires a broadband connection, which I don't have smiley ) but it does look interesting. Here's the promotional screenshot:

site's down time

Over the last couple of weeks, I'd go and visit one of my sites only to find that it's not working. My host seems to have had database problems... fatal errors in mysql and somesuch. And since all my sites require databases, all of them were down. Which sucks. And to top it all off, I can't get into my Cpanel when this happens.

AIM Pages Beta (beta you said?)

Learned that AOL launched the beta version of its myspace competition, AIM Pages. So I decided to try it out.

It's not beta. It's alpha. It's buggy as hell. Pulling teeth buggy.

Really, AOL. Call it alpha ware. It's what it is.

Locke's Lost Hope

Lately I've been feeling a lot like Locke in the May 10 episode of Lost. Locke, who spent most of the season determined to press the button in the hatch, has now learned that he did it for nothing; it was an experiment for others to watch. And Locke feels like his whole "pathetic little life" was wasted. I know how he feels.

Beyond Default: Announcing CMS Showcase

I'm pleased to announce the launch of CMS Showcase.

CMS Showcase is designed to highlight what opensource content management systems are capable of. Basically, it's a list of sites that use a CMS to its full advantage. Sites that go beyond the default, not only in style, but in content. For example, there are CMS' that are meant to be blogs, but can be extended to be used as a question and answer site.

Nigerian DooDoo

got a Nigerian SPAM SCAM, that used the name Doudou, which I took to mean DooDoo. Quite accurate, really.

Operation: Best Buy

The Link

"The idea for this mission was submitted by a stranger via email. Agent Slavinsky wrote in to suggest I get either a large group of people in blue polo shirts and khakis to enter a Best Buy or a group in red polo shirts and khakis to enter a Target. Wearing clothing almost identical to the store's uniform, the agents would not claim to work at the store but would be friendly and helpful if anyone had a question."
