I don't think I've ever seen an episode of the original The Bionic Woman. I know that the heroin, Jaime Sommers, ran in slo-mo, and that she was part cyborg. I don't think she was that popular of a character back then, and that made me wonder why they'd bother to bring her back.
So when I heard about the Bionic Woman remake, I had to ask myself why? Then I heard that David Eick, an executive producer of the new Battlestar Galactica, was helming this series, and I had a bit more confidence in the project.
I guess the basic premise is the same: Jaime Sommers (played by Michelle Ryan) was in a car crash and was made into a cyborg by a top-secret organization.
Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica) is in the opener as another cyborg who fights Jaime. The previews I saw of that had some nice action, but Katee's lines were... what you'd expect.
I'm on the Bionic fence with this show. I may have potential, as long as Jaime's humanity isn't lost.
Plus, it's up against tough competion. On Wednesdays at 9pm, it has Private Practice, Criminal Minds and Gossip Girl to fight against. And it would be funny if Kate Walsh beats a Bionic Woman.
