I'll admit it. I watched the series premier of The CW's teen angst show Gossip Girl. And it wasn't half bad. (I enjoyed it much more than Fox's K-Ville - of which I could only stand about 10 minutes of.)

I'm not sure I liked it enough to keep watching it. The characters are what you'd expect in this type of show - the outsider, the bad boy, the good girl, the mysterious girl, the bitch. Their parents are the same - the washed out rocker, the bitch, the control freak dad.

It's going to have tough competition in its Wednesdays at 9pm time slot, going against ABC's Private Practice, NBC's Bionic Woman, and CBS's Criminal Minds. (I doubt FOX's Kitchen Nightmares is going to last long.)

Since The CW had lost both Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars, this show might be what it needs to stay on the air, and with Reaper, the network may live to see another year.
