emmy2007 - Drama - Writing, Directing, Outstanding

I don't know what's more surprising in the Outstanding Drama Series category, the shows that are on it, or the shows that were left out. Only one of the shows listed deserves to win (House), and another is in strong contention to win (Heroes). But the others? Come on. They might as well have had 24 nominated, too. Many of the HBO/Showtime shows deserve to be listed here, as well as Battlestar Galactica and Friday Night Lights.

So let's see who the nominees are...

Outstanding Drama Series
Boston Legal
Grey's Anatomy
Heroes
House
The Sopranos

For me, Boston Legal isn't a drama, it's a comedy. And it was all over the map this year. While I enjoy Denny Crane (Denny Crane), the show was just so inconsistent that I stopped watching it.

Grey's Anatomy, which ranked as the #1 or #2 show for most of the year, lost me any my respect during the three part "We'll almost kill Meredith" storyline. Sure, her mom died, and she lost Derrick, but shouldn't she have some brain damage? The water in Eliot Bay isn't that cold. Or warm. And the George/Izzy/Callie triangle. Let's get that over with.

Heroes - I've only seen the last few episodes, but my dad said that he enjoyed the show. But it's considered science fiction, so that might make it a loser in this category. In spite of everything else.

I like House, but it too had an inconsistent year. The whole House/Tritter entanglement didn't do anything for me. It did get a lot better near the end when everyone left House.

As for The Sopranos - overrated.

Outstanding Writing For A Drama Series
Battlestar Galactica - Occupation/Precipice
Lost - Through The Looking Glass
The Sopranos - Kennedy And Heidi
The Sopranos - The Second Coming
The Sopranos - Made In America

Should The Sopranos win for its final episode Made in America? I don't think so. If it does, the writer should definitely thank Journey for "Don't Stop Believing". If this wasn't the final season of that show, it wouldn't be nominated. It's all just hype.

Lost had a tough year, but Through The Looking Glass ended the season on a... confusing note. It's more worthy then the Sopranos, mind you, but still...

Battlestar Galactica is one of the best shows on TV, bar none. While I doubt it'll win, it really should. So it's my pick to win. I can't in good conscience pick any of the Sopranos episodes.

One show I would have liked to have seen here is Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip's Nevada Day Part Two (with John Goodman as the judge.)

Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series
Battlestar Galactica - Exodus, Part 2
Boston Legal - Son of the Defender
Friday Night Lights - Pilot
Heroes - Genesis
Lost - Through the Looking Glass
The Sopranos - Kennedy And Heidi
Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip - Pilot

Like anyone would be surprised by my choice here.

Bonnie's a cutie! (And could be Moon's younger sister.)

Have you installed a revolving cat door yet? Smiling

I know. None of them have cute little kittens, so I can understand why you wouldn't be interested in them. Smiling

My house should be on Animal Planet. Speaking of my house, have you seen my newest addition?

I have 6 more kittens downstairs...and at the end of the week I will have a mom and her 5 six week old kittens. At least now, they arent spending alot of time with me. The cats are getting moved on pretty quickly with the shelter open
