Well, it's that time again. Emmy season. The award show for television shows announced the nominees last month and, as usual, they got a lot of it wrong. Great shows and actors get snubbed while others leave you with a "what the hell?" moment. So I've written this series of posts about who I think should win and why some others shouldn't.
What I'll cover: The major categories like best drama, best comedy, leading actor/actresses, supporting actor/actresses and more.
What I wont cover: Hairdressing. Lighting. Children's programming. Mini-series. Sound mixing. Music. Art Direction. Other technical categories. (Part of it is I really don't know what the categories deal with, another is it's not particularly interesting to me.)
For the complete list of nominees, visit the Emmys.Org website. (And I should add that the Emmys are a production of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.)
In the list of nominees you'll see two graphics. The "My Pick" graphic
are for the show that I think should win or will win. The other graphic is "Probably Win"
and is for shows that I believe are too overrated (Can you say Sopranos?) but stand a good chance of winning.
I'll have one post a day up for the next week or at around 8pm Pacific. The last post in the series will list all my picks by category. It's called "And the Winners are..." and I'll update that post after the awards are given out to see how my choices stacked up against the actual winners.
So sit back, get your popcorn, and let's look at the 2007 Emmy nominees.
