Lost will be on the air until 2010, tvguide.com reports.

There will be 48 more episodes of the series, aired over three seasons of 16 episodes. (16 episodes per year.)

Now that they have a goal for the endgame of the series, they need to work on getting back the audience that they lost (no pun intended) at the beginning of season three (the Other season) and getting new fans to watch the show.

I should also note that Season 4 is slated to begin airing in January 2008 and may run the 16 episodes consecutively, like 24 does.
