Lost November 1 - "The Cost of Living"

Tagged as:

When a character dies on Lost, it's usually for a reason. And they usually go out in style. Tonight's death was, for me, unexpected and even a bit heart wrenching. I didn't like it. He shouldn't have died. (If you don't know who died, then don't read the last paragraph of this article.) I'm sure it was necessary and the death will affect others for the rest of the season. I just didn't want to see him go.

On the Island it's common for people to see people and things from their past and even interact with them. Kate saw and touched a horse, Hurley's imaginary friend from the mental hospital wasn't so imaginary on the island. Jack saw his dad who died. Eko's brother burned down his hut.

Eko's brother, being a manifestation on the island, said to Eko "Why do you talk to me like I'm your brother?" then disappeared. Next thing we see is the black nanite cloud. Are these manifestations the Island's security system? Hmmmm....

In other Lost news, the alien I mentioned last week was just a guy in another station/hatch wearing an eye patch. Ben wants Jack to operate on him. Juliet wants Jack to kill Ben when he operates on him. What will Jack do?

Next weeks episode (the last for a while, I think) is called "I do." From Yahoo! TV: "Jack makes a decision regarding Ben's offer; Kate feels helpless when it looks like Pickett is going to make good on his threat to kill Sawyer; Locke discovers a hidden message that may help unlock the island's secrets."

Tonight's episode was called "The Cost of Living." And yes, one person died. Mr. Eko. Sad, I know. And he never got to finish building that church for his brother.

And the nanite cloud wants to kill Locke, etc, too.
